Preparedness and resilience are core to our business. We want to reassure customers that we have an architecture model and approach, which means that we can operate without any service interruptions. We have recently improved scalability, system performance and reliability as well as the ability to increase capacity to cover call volumes. Our capacity forecasting means we can monitor network traffic and increase capacity on our telephone servers in real time. Read our recent blog on Resilience and Security. This work is ongoing and will continue.
We have also taken steps to ensure that our technical team are fully working from home, some considerable distance apart from each other, and are teleworking only to ensure that we have continued technical support for our customers in cases of staff illness.
The safety and well-being of our employees is paramount, so we have put several travel safety precautions in place in an abundance of caution to limit exposure to our workforce and local communities. We will continue to reassess and adjust these precautions as circumstances unfold.
We are monitoring the government communications and recommendations at the GOV.UK website and have subscribed to receive email alerts to ensure we are acting on the most up to date information.
